I don’t know if you can tell but I am not great with words. I wish that I could write an intriguing bit here but I have yet to be happy with anything that I type. So I’ll be short and sweet. I love weddings for these reasons 1.beautiful bride, 2 groom who can’t take his eyes off of the bride, 3 flowers, 4 beautiful dress, 5 cake. Nafis and Najat met in high school and have been together since then. (the dipping pose is one that they recreated from their prom photos) They are so happy together. There are just some people who are laid back and genuinely happy. That would best describe these two. Laid back and happy. Congratulations!
This itty bitty was 6 days old and was so sweet for this session. We had her in a corner surrounded by beautiful light from two windows. Being near Arizona windows helped keep her slumbering once my AMAZING assistant Amy Griner (her aunt) got her to sleep. It was around 90 degrees in the session area and it worked like a charm.
Which photo is your favorite?
Which processing is your favorite?
We ended the session with an awake and hungry girl who only had eyes for her mama.
Check out this amazing giveaway of Life. Camera. Actions.
These actions are simply wonderful. It speeds up my process using actions. I normally write my own but these would be such fun to use also. There is a bit of every style included. I would love to have them.
Sweet laughter in the air, temperature is rising and humidity … what’s that?
Not sure what to do with myself. I was sitting here having just finished editing another set of photos for an awesome family and got a little sad. It has been a while since I had a session with a tiny baby! Ok so not that long but I haven’t gotten to take and edit photos for any itty bitties lately. Now don’t get me wrong. I love the rough and tumble sugar and spice big kids and toddlers but there is just something with new baby smells and squirms, scrunches and grunts that I simply LOVE!

A recent shot of my ‘baby’. He picked me flowers in the back yard copying his big brother who always finds something sweet to do for me or give to me. My boys are adorably melt your heart sweet.
These are a few of my faves from this session. Have you ever met a firey red head? I met my first under 20 years old. She is such a fun spitfire. All three of them have such fun personalities and smiles.
I love FB! This awesome family contacted me in need of an EMERGENCY photo session. I can honestly say that I have never thought of needing photographs as an emergency but this was a first. I got a FB mail asking if it was possible to have a very last minute family session to turn out pics for a high school reunion photo. I thought that it was so cool that she wanted a current one! I then realized that I would love to have a more recent family photo… our last one was this past Christmas for our annual card.
When kids are young they change so much so quickly. Getting family photos taken in favorite places like the Zoo, a park, the mountains or just doing what your family enjoys can help capture the memories. Being able to look back at your family photo albums and say we really did love going to the park together or the Zoo or just playing games is priceless.
You probably have guessed by now that this little boy is becoming very accustomed to my camera. His mommy is one of my best friends from high school who even back then had my camera hovering around waiting for a ‘great’ shot. I remember one day when the sky looked promising for an awesome sunset when she and I hopped in my 78 Olds Omega and raced out to some mountains just north east of where we lived. We parked and hiked as fast as we could to get up to some boulders before that ‘golden’ moment that photographers talk about. It was worth it. With the sun setting behind her fiery red hair I was able to snap off some of my favorite pictures from high school.
I took her maternity photos and his bitty photos too. I love that he inherited his mamma’s beautiful hair. Gotta love his intense eyes.
Little bit more about me. My grandfather was a JH Science teacher and a photographer. I was raised with a love of stopping the car every 10 minutes on a road trip for a ‘beautiful shot’, and watching trays worth of slide shows. Not many kids would actually ask to see slides of random things but I am not normal. I loved looking at my grandfather’s slides and still do. Although now it is normally on a HDTV or digital frame. Grandpa came over to the digital age a few years back.
I purchased my first Pentax 35mm slr at a pawn shop while in high school then proceeded to practice (harass) my friends incessantly with my camera. I loved it. Not so sure if they did though. Well I moved on from the film slr to my d-slr in 2009 and love the instant gratification of it. I still have and use my slr just not as often.
This little one was such a joy to work with. His adoring sisters watched while he was posed and moved around. They even pulled out their own camera so I could show them a few things. He was happily sleeping until two minutes before I got there. Infants take extra time, patience, and understanding to work with. They aren’t as easy as some may think to shoot. ‘Big’ brother even snuck in there for a few.
If you are expecting and would like to have your newborn session done plan on scheduling your appointment within 24 hours of the baby being born. True newborn pictures are taken within the first 2 weeks of life. Once they start to gain more weight they have more ‘alert’ or awake time and it is harder to get sweet sleeping dreamy shots. I come to you so no worry about having to load up the car with the newborn ‘luggage’.
MCPActions has awesome actions and awesome giveaways. I get super excited thinking about this awesome lens! It has a focal length that my 2 lenses don’t currently cover. I am currently not at a place where I can purchase any lenses so being able to win one would be super fantastic. The lens has wide angle capabilities and still great depth of field. I shoot with out flash when I work with children and infants so the low light capabilities would be amazing.
MCP Actions awesomeness.
The actions on MCPActions are amazing! I wish that I had them all. They have a variety of wonderfulness to them. Being a ‘pop’ color lover I really love their Essential actions. I wish I had them all. It would make my life editing sooo much easier.
Fingers crossed that I can win this one.
This little one is growing so fast. You probably recognize her from her family Christmas session and her itty bitty session. She loves the camera! Her beautiful eyes just light up. She was still a bit wobbly and tried to tip over a few times but mama caught her. We got quite a few great ones. Proud mama for sure!
